Carrie is a new addition to the team at “Spirit” coming from a long career working in the field of Interior Design and Architecture. With a strong passion for both and the belief in the whole integration of design disciplines, she brings her experience in Interior Design along with her formal education and training in architecture. She holds a fully accredited professional degree by NAAB (National Architectural Accrediting Board) with a “Master of Architecture” from the University of Utah: College of Architecture and Planning. She is also a member of NCARB (National Council of Architectural Registration Boards) and has fully completed her required professional internship, awaiting her completion of the A.R.E. Through the course and completion of her graduate studies, Carrie earned the prestigious honor for “Thesis Design Award” given by the faculty of the college for the best achievement in her Graduate Thesis Project.
Carrie also completed her Graduate Internship working for the Executive Director for the Utah State Capitol Preservation Board, where she worked to develop her Master Thesis of a 400,000 sq. ft. addition to the Capitol and 40 acre Master Plan incorporating the historic preservation of Capitol Hill in Salt Lake City. Her commitment to “Historic Preservation” and the love of regional vernacular architecture and interior design brought her back to Truckee and Tahoe where she was originally raised.
Since her return to the area, some of Carrie’s notable local projects include the new “Joe Crowley Student Union” at the University of Nevada-Reno, lodge and resort projects for Diamond Peak Ski Area and large hotel expansion for Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite.
